From the total number of the real life wedding ceremony that I have attended, I can reveal that the groom is the least motivated grooms speech presenter on the day of the wedding ceremony. Why? There are those that got caught up with the single party. Others have been so engaged with this preparation of the wedding ceremony, except for the grooms speeches. That being the situation, many have turn up to the wedding with no plan whatsoever to speak. A few think that this groom speech is no big deal and that they are able to just give an impromtu speech. This is a terrible mistake and I urge you to rethink if you are heading that route.
Well, if you are planning to deliver the most awful grooms speeches, these are a few ideas that you must respect:
- Forget to mention your parents or the bride’s. Forget also to show appreciation to them for their encouragement and contribution to the wedding ceremony.
- Keep a record of the names of family and friends that did not show up for the wedding. Give your thoughts as to why they did not turn up.
- Provide some examples of your own achievements. Boast about it.
- Make mention the names of some of your ex-girlfriends.
- Do the same for your bride by making known some of her ex-boyfriends
- Ignore your bride. Tell only of your own experiences. Make no mention of her inner and outer attractiveness and your prosperous future together.
- Ramble on until somebody decides to depart. Just keep on speaking without any end in sight.
- Sip lots of alcohol before the wedding ceremony. Slur your words.
- Fail to remember the names of your parents in law, your best man, your bridesmaid and even your wife to be.
- Do not practise your groom speech.
You must be thinking that this writer has gone bonkers. To be truthful, of course these ideas are outrageous. But the depressing thing is that I have been to weddings where what I describe above really happened. This happens when the bridegroom comes ill-equipped.
