A Wild Ride: Up And Getting A Classic Ford Mustang

July 30th, 2010

So I haven’t much gotten to write on my weblog half as often as I would’ve liked, owing to the fact that I have been running around town with my old man with his wet & wild midlife crisis. True, some would argue it’s not as crazy as it could be. The thing is, the way he played it out was he dressed up like fonzie, and storm over to my place and casually inform me, in his jazziest dialect: “Get in, boy, you and I are gonna start cruising for some classic Mustang sales. You got it, buddy, I’m totally set to get myself a real cruiser.”

Before I knew what was happening him and me were on our way to a few of those wild vintage car places that everybody is just about convinced are not quite on the up and up, and I see the old man made out a check on the spot, for an extremely shiny classic car. It really is an intense item. It sounded really nice as well.

You’ll notice I put about that sound in the past tense. It sounded perfect right up until it stopped making any noises. The old man informs me that it’s a really quick problem and he just needs to find the right part. I’m thinking, it’s not as easy to come across 1969 Mustang parts as it was over a million years ago, but he swears there is a pretty nice-sized aftermarket for them regardless. It seems like the best place to find parts for 1967 Mustangs is actually web auctions, because you can find them rebuilt and often as good as they were 30 years ago. They might not be that inexpensive, though… Get real, these are ancient Mustang parts.

Could be worse, though… Imagine if he would’ve decided to buy a mail-order bride.
