A Book Stand as a Gift for Book Lovers
A book stand is a great gift idea for every real lover of books. Currently proffered models range from straight forward wire devices such as the Fold’N'Stow that supports a book at adjustable angles on virtually any flat surface, to the ultimately sophisticated LEVO Bookholder that embraces a book in either a floor standing design or a clamp-on model that easily clamps to any table, desk, or counter top. Most book stand designs work best with hard cover books, but they also can function very well with paperbacks held by book holders like an OpenPage.
The Fold’N'Stow is one of the most affordable of book stands. It folds flat and comes with it’s own plastic pouch punched for easy placement in a 3 ring binder. It may be used on a counter top for recipe books, or atop any desk, table, workstation, bench, etc. Wire arms with page holders extend out from the back to secure your book open, and, by moving the arms either closer together or farther apart, smaller and larger books are readily accommodated. The back of the stand has horizontal pieces that may be raised or lowered to adjust the angle at which the book is held relative to the surface upon which it is resting.
The LEVO’s most popular book stand is the LEVO floor standing model, which features a weighted base on casters for ease of movement from bedside to treadmill to the couch, desk, table or counter top. Wherever you position it, it can position in virtually any position you can imagine. By keeping your book above the surface to which it is secured, the clamp-on model saves the weight and expense of the rolling base while conserving work space, since neither your book nor your book holder rest on the surface.
Even though there are other book stand designs available, the LEVO and Fold’N'Stow designs have stood the test of time and stand up well to constant use.
